Tshurtday - Round 2 - ArmVSHand

Arm Vs Hand Clothing

Firstly a little bit about the company ...

"Clothing company started in July 2010 by Christian Mear and Nathan VanDame. The concept came about when casually discussing how so many of the clothing companies they have come across throughout their careers have been all about making a quick buck. All Arm vs Hand products are made in the U.S"

I first heard about this company while drunkenly having an after show chat with Nathan Vandame *not to be confused with any relation to Jean-claude but he works out about as much*. At first I'm not going to lie I was skeptical about the name but it seems to have grown on me like a bad rash!! After talking with Nate about the company and the ambition he has to make it as big as all these clothing companies we have come to know such as Macbeth, FSAS and Drop Dead it seemed to me that business is only going to grow.

Now you have all heard of Hit The Lights so you will all know Nate, he is one of the owners of Arm Vs Hand and if you have seen their show and the effort that he goes through during that you know the company is going to have that same rock your socks energy too it.

The Designs

As you can see from below and even from the Logo AVH aren't here to give you kittens and slightly miss drawn cats, they are here to give you a different look and actually make you stand out in the crowd.

As you can see the designs they are very striking and very well drawn, what can I say other than in a couple years time we might be seeing a lot more of these t-shirts at warped tour and gigs alike!

Now if you like what you see and want to purchase a T shirt head over too:

Tshirtday!

Arkaik Clothing

First up for Tshirtday is Arkaik Clothing

“I’m inspired by everyday life,” Abidor says of the graphics. “I come up with designs that seem conceptually solid. I work with 12 artists around the world … Arkaik means ancient and old, for years I didn’t have anything that went with it. This summer I came up with the logo.”

The designs are big — often taking up an entire T-shirt — and bold, often colored using heavy black. In addition to the unique graphic T-shirts for men and women, the line now includes accessories like belts, sunglasses and gym shorts.

Recently, Abidor acquired a fellow independent clothing company own and ran by another young entreprenuer, Alex Mitchell. The merger produced Arkaik: Empire, a darker division of Arkaik. Today, Jordan and Alex work together to make Arkaik what it is.

“Arkaik is more about colors and upbeat. Empire is more for metal,” Abidor says, trying to define a broad consumer that spans 48 states and 27 countries. Abidor says he’s shipped to Singapore, New Zealand, Germany and Brazil, among other countries.

He says Arkaik owes its clientele to the advent of social networking sites. Because of Web sites like MySpace and Twitter, Abidor is able to connect Arkaik with people outside of his social circle.

This year, Abidor and Mithcell are taking the line to music festival Bamboozle 2010, where they will share a booth with fellow independent line Miles To Go. Jordan recently met with boutiques in Los Angeles that were interested in stocking his line, and will be selling during this summer’s Warped Tour.

“I’ve never been in [the business] for the money. I’ve made friends from it,” Abidor says. “I talk to them. I’ve always been more about building a personal relationship than a business relationship.”

Review

This brand has been exploding all over twitter recently and I see them going from strength to strength. Being endorsed by bands left right and centre you can be sure Arkaik is coming to a store near you!

With T shirts such as Sharkaik you can see the time and effort gone into the designs, and with constant tweets thanking their customers for spreading the love, what more could you ask for when buying a t shirt?

My Ranking is 8/10

So head over to their store and spend some LOVE ----- Arkaik Clothing Store

Here is a preview of some of the upcoming Movies, just something to put a cherry on top of your week

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark

A gruesome prologue set on the night of October 1910 shows the home's deranged first owner, artist and biologist Emerson Blackwood, luring his maid, Miss Winter, into the dungeon-like basement and removing teeth from the mouth of the terrified young woman. As he carries out the atrocity, he explains to the young maid that they, the goblin-like creatures, have taken his son and will only give him back in exchange for teeth. As the young woman screams, whispering can be heard all around the room from the sealed up fireplace. Blackwood makes his way over to the fireplace and offers the teeth in exchange for the return of his son, only to be told his offering wasn't acceptable and he is pulled into the fireplace. The basement is sealed and forgotten over the generations.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Set in the aftermath of the Cold War, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, also described as a "breathtakingly ordinary" anti-James Bond, this tells the tale of a big spy hunt within the highest echelons of the British Secret Intelligence Service.
